CONSERVATIVES FOR MENTAL HEALTH HOSTED ITS OFFICIAL LAUNCH IN PARLIAMENT
Conservatives for Mental Health had its official launch in Portcullis House in Parliament on the 24th October, and it was a great success!
Our Founder and Director, Drusilla Summers said: "It was brilliant to hear from MPs including Nicky Morgan MP and Maria Miller MP, about the work that is already being done to tackle this social injustice; it's clear that mental health is a top priority, and that action is already being taken to further improve services and the experiences of those affected by mental illness.'
Representatives from Young Minds, Rethink Mental Illness, and the Mental Health Network (NHS Confederation) also attended, and provided briefings for MPs and gave their valuable insight into the current mental health challenges.
Reflecting on the event, the campaign group's new Deputy Director, Jed Dwight said:
"I was delighted to support the work of our fantastic Director Drusilla Summers at the launch of Conservatives for Mental Health. This was attended by an impressive number of MPs, with those able to do so spending time with us discussing mental health issues in their constituencies, and the issues they'd like to see taken forward by the group.
Furthermore, it was pleasing to hear that they'd also spread the word to Conservative Councillors and members within their constituencies, and ask them to feed into the approach that they'd like to see this group take.
All in all a very successful launch! I'd like to thank Drusilla for all her hard work in bringing the event together, as well as the MP for Crawley Henry Smith, and MP for Eastleigh Mims Davies, who sponsored it."
